About Yolk!
Yolk! is a concept design project for a brunch place. This was an exploration of using food to create a logo.
Design Process
The Yolk! logo was created using seven eggs, a piping bag, a griddle, and a dream.
On the first attempt, the egg whites were too runny to hold their shape, so for round two I mixed in flour and milk to thicken the batter enough to pipe letterforms.
Some letters burnt to a crisp and others spread to illegibility, but enough were salvageable. With a little help from Camera Raw and the Liquify tool, each letter was refined and shaped into the final logo you see above.
